The trees are fascinating. You would think they'd resent their fate, but instead they seem to live firmly rooted (hah!) in the present. I wonder how much they remember their previous selves. What parts of a dragon are used to make a tree? Do dragons realize the trees used to be them? There are so many existential questions here and it really gets my gears going. This is one of the things I love about your worldbuilding--it's intricate and creative, yet no matter how magical it is in nature, I always find myself wondering more about the consequences it has on the inhabitants, rather than trying to parse out the mechanics of it. How doesn't matter as much as So What.
Thank you! I think that is pretty much what my brain gravitates to in terms of worldbuilding. The world can run on whatever weird scien-sorcery, but how have its inhabitants settled around it?
Since I've been on a Smothers Brothers kick recently, I was reminded of this.
This band(?) is new to me. That's pretty cool how they blend music and skits! Even though it's not what I'd listen to in my own time, I'm always amazed at the diversity of music and crossovers out there.
I'm not surprised that they didn't become popular in your neck of the woods. My brother and I used to air guitar and lip sync to those records. I was motivated to listen to them because of this news story because it reminded me of this song.
Here's my favorite, Laredo.
If you listen to all of those you'll probably never want to listen to The Smothers Brothers ever again! :D
