What if it's only possible on instinct or feeling?

And if Ethan's dad teleported someone with him, they parted ways or lost each other before he got home. So: Unlikely.

(Also, what then? The Elyeos might slip through as humans, but Lushaka? No chance.)

Ethan, your intentions are good, but...this seems like a bad idea.

Like, okay. Go to Earth, no more Queen. Cool. And then what?

Best-case scenario, they'd have to start their lives over completely with all of their previous experiences and skills rendered virtually meaningless. Even if humanity decides it feels benevolent enough to allow them to live openly among them (doubtful), they'd probably spend the rest of their days as a scientific curiosity and subjected to invasive amounts of attention. I can't picture any of them being comfortable with that kind of life.

What's more likely is they'd have to spend their whole lives in hiding, depending on Ethan to look after them, which is a problem given the disparity of their lifespans. It would be a very lonely existence, and a very stressful one for Ethan.

And if they get found out...well, as I said, I'm not too optimistic about humanity letting them be. Danbi and his mother could easily be subjected to even worse exploitation than they'd face in Keol because of their powers. Lushaka would probably be treated as a threat and things could get very bloody very fast. Lord only knows what humanity would do with the sudden knowledge that other worlds exist and Ethan alone is capable of teleporting to them. His life would be over if that secret ever got out.

So yeah, unless there's a plot twist later that Earth is actually secretly scattered with its own communities of Visitors and dokkabi who can help set everyone up, I don't think this is going to work. And it's probably going to break Ethan's heart when he realizes it for himself.

Yeah, it's the old human/mer-person problem.

I've known some illegal immigrants, so I'm familiar with *some* of the challenges they would face as undocumented intergalactic immigrants. But at least the people I've known were/are still humans... Danbi & co would be playing Harder Than Hard Mode.
