This is the second update of the week; be sure you didn't miss the previous page!
Doesn't he already have a strong power? He "teleported with two people in tow" even before he came in contact with the dragon blood. He didn't know what he was doing, so I guess all he'd need was control over his teleportation power. Maybe some education about it?
Or did he lose it when he got poisoned with the dragon blood?
I thought that the possibility of becoming an arborist (or something else) was (or would be) a super special refinement of his "general" Dokkabi powers that the dragon blood had cranked up a few levels.
But Now I got the impression that the dragon blood enabled him to choose some power at will. Right or wrong?
He will lose it permanently and completely upon choosing, unless it ends up being his power (either primary or secondary)!
I was wondering the same thing as RockB regarding Ethan's apparent ability to teleport. But if his "natural" ability can be overwritten (or relegated to the backseat, at any rate), that's quite interesting. And I wonder what it is about these three common abilities in particular that make them the common ones. I'd love to speculate more, because the whole concept of dokkabi is one of the more fascinating aspects of your worldbuilding, but I think for once I'll just wait and see what ends up happening. Something unexpected, surely.
Natural aptitude does factor in. So if his one-time teleportation feat is an indication of greater aptitude, chances are he'd be a better teleporter than he would be an Arborist or whatever he may not have a knack for.
"Psh, telepathy sucks. Shutting up is an option for a reason"
Preach it, Nopsae! I have an inability to tune out conversations, speech, and music with lyrics.
This is almost as bad as being stuck with telepathy!
