This is it; this is the end of act one. What do you think of the story so far?
I'm hoping the next act will give you 100x more feels than the first! I'll need some time to prepare, and will be coming back on Jan 10th. See you then!
What do I think of HOK so far? Great story, awe-striking art. I'm looking forward to the next act, but take all the time you need to prepare.
Thanks! I'm already a lot more prepared for it than I was when I started the first act. I'm far more aware of the challenges now, for good or bad. We'll see how it goes.
Very enjoyable so far.
I feel like I need to go back and read the whole thing at once just to get it all as a single act now that it's done... but that will have to wait for a while as I am out of town right now.
Ooh, I hope that makes for a more cohesive reading experience if you get around to doing it!
I wonder if there's a workable translation of this most excellent catfish pun from English to Korean. If not, what a sad loss for Lu. Even if he pretended otherwise, I think he'd secretly find that little joke very amusing.
Have I mentioned that I love unexpected splashes of humor you throw out from time to time? Between this, the "eggs and zucchini" page, and Ethan's...unfortunate name pronunciation...I've gotta say you're pretty hilarious when you want to be. The character writing and drama are fabulous, but those moments of levity are super-important to make the story truly feel grounded and I just love how you balance it.
Alas, Korean for catfish is its own morpheme, not a compound word. But hey! Maybe they'll come across a catfish dish, and have a moment when Ethan calls it a literal "cat fish" in Korean, which.... uh.... most Korean speakers would understand as "cat meat."
As in "meat from a cat" or "scrap meat for cats"? :P Both sound bad.
