This is update 2 of 2 for the day. If you missed the previous one, please be sure to read it!
Oh my, the emotions on this update are really on point. I'm really loving where this scene is going!
Those feels
This update kinda hits them a bit
It's sort of bittersweet, in a way
Yeah, it's sad because... sad things happened, but sweet because it's bringing people (Ethan and Danbi) together. ❤︎
You tell her, Ethan! I know that if a relative of mine can be saved, then I would do anything in my power to do just that. ;D
If her theory about Danbi's mom willingly going with them is right, though, that was her own way of trying to save Danbi. By choosing the more dangerous path, they'd make her sacrifice meaningless!
Of course, the point is to find a situation where no one has to sacrifice themselves, but that's always easier said than done...
The broken Korean dialogue makes the scene even more powerful, by using only the most basic words and letting the art convey Ethan's sorrow.
Starting to get pretty emotional here... Great scenes here, the art manages to tell even more than the words here...
Eek, sorry for the late reply! And yeah, that's what I try to do with the art -- the job of the art is to tell the story untold by the words, and there's a LOT that the words leave untold.
That POW-MIA... I remember seeing those when I would visit my father after he and my mother divorced. There are a lot of feelings tied up in this page... Well done.
Thanks. Still not as great as I want it to be, but I gotta let myself off the hook and just keep going, hoping that the next big emotional scene will make it to the Truly Awesome territory.
oh my gosh, as a navy daughter and army wife, this hits me hard. Beautifully done.
;0; I'm humbled and moved! Ethan's past and how he grows from it is the very heart of this comic, so I hope you'll enjoy how the rest of the story unfolds.
