Quick announcement: there will be no update this coming Monday. I’ve got a few extra-busy days ahead of me.
Observant readers may have noticed that I broke the 180 degree rule here. It was a deliberate choice to accentuate the change in the flow of the conversation/mood.
Ooh. Ethan's a sharp lad. And I really like how the colors shifted in that last panel. Very emotive.
I'm guessing they don't know that Danbi already let on about his mother, so they're in even more trouble than they realize.
He may be struggling with the language, but he ain't stupid. :)
And yeah, they don't know that...! IF they're lucky, Adela was too busy raging and wasn't paying attention to Danbi's words. But that's a big if.
That last panel has beautiful lighting. Very dramatic. ;D
I wonder what other countries surround Keol. ^_^
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to paint.
I'm really excited about showing more of the geography~
The second panel is a beat that seems to indicate Ethan's realization of exactly how dangerous helping Danbi will be, and all the bad stuff that could happen to him. The final panel is him resolutely deciding to do it anyway. The dialogue doesn't even need to indicate this.
I'm glad that's coming through! At the same time, it's worth noting that the risks he's accepting are for situations he's never experienced firsthand until now. He's willing (quite firmly, at that), but not exactly ready...
Oh oh! I bet he will not say what she wants him to say! I love how already Ethan seems real close with Danbi-- or at least that he really cares about him..
This also explains why Danbi looks soo much like a girl too! I can't wait to see how this pans out <33
They'd both spent a long time being lonely boys, those two. ;0;
