Be sure to check out the previous strip if you missed it! It was an extra update that happened yesterday (a Wednesday).

Oh, my. Ha, I think I'd have the same reaction. XD

Love the story btw. Sorry I never mentioned that. I'm just so blinded by the pretty art. XD

Don't be sorry! As long as my comic doesn't get grouped in the "art is good, but the writing sucks and the creator should just draw someone else's story" category, I'm good. XD;

I think that there may be a limited number of ways to say "I love your art because it's absolutely gorgeous", but I suspect I may have to discover them all for HoK.

Moooore please!

Umm.. and could you please submit your comic to piperka.net? it's a comic organizer that I use for all comics that I read, and it would be great to have it there too :)

This page is so much funnier with the last one! :'D Gosh, I wonder if that's normal? "Oh yeah I just took a dump and messed up the glowy mold, it's everywhere now."

That could end up strange...

Whoo finally got around to reading this. Not to sound generic, but I'm surprised. I thought this comic was going to be a kawaii shoujo adventure in Japanimerica, where the main gets the girl, but it's pretty interesting and I like how it's something other than wannabe Japan.
I also like your scenery, the sky particularly.

The only nitpick is that the faces sometimes have this fishy wall-eyed look to them (but that's probably just because Ethan has sulky eyes, so it comes across like fish eyes?), and Danbi's eyes sit a little low their face for my taste, but again I'm only nitpicking so just totally ignore this. I'm a picky bitch when it comes to visual art.

Good job! Keep it up!

Thanks for checking out my comic! I had a similar problem with my previous comic; some people assumed the story would be standard manga stuff, and those who gave it a chance quickly found out that it wasn't. Some day I'll figure out how to reach out to a wider audience, including those who are allergic to manga :)

I think the eye thing is largely a matter of different personal tastes. Interesting that you describe Ethan's eyes as sulky, though. They're a little droopy, and his brows are THICK, so he usually looks kind of goofy to me. XD

For me it wasn't so much the fact that it was a style influenced by Japanese comic artists, but the genre your style looked (to me) like it took most influence from... of that makes sense. Or to be blunt I thought it would be more akin to shoujo, or something like Inuyasha, and I've never been a fan of those sorts of things.

Pfft! Actually I was going to use droopy, but it felt like I saying he looked dopey for some reason.
But yeah it's definitely just a taste thing, I haven't drawn stuff with Japanese influence for yeeeears, and that's definitely changed how I perceive certain styles.

Oh! To add to the scenery thing, I really like that you actually draw it, it's beyond distracting when you can't tell where a character is half the time.

Alright! I'll stop taking up your time now.

That's what I meant. People were making incorrect story-related assumptions about the comic based on the art style. I can't really blame them, though, because I too avoid comics with certain art styles...

Oh whoops! My bad, I thought you meant the art of general comic books made in Japan.
Humans are a judgmental species of animal, it really sucks that your comic is judged by it's appearance, but at least you know what you're doing better than some inspired by Japanese artists skill wise (and the comic is coloured) so you'll more likely get phobic people to at least glance your work than others. ~lame attempt at optimism~
Just keep on keepin on.

Now I really will leave you alone, sorry about that. Don't know how to shut up sometimes.

No need to apologize! And as for people judging the book by its cover, it's a thing that's not going to stop, so I'll just need to get used to it, and hopefully find some ways around it. :)
