Yes, it does. (But knowing what it is for, now, I think it's a poor disguise.)

This page answers some questions a opens a few new ones :-)

Easy for one to say in retrospect... but NOBODY guessed back in chapter 24 ;)!!

(I'm just being silly here, BTW. I'm not seriously taking pride in having hidden her identity cleverly back in chapter 24. If anything, I was a bit surprised that no one thought of her at the time.)

Heh :D It's a quite outstanding "disguise", back than I thought it was some ritual gear-up, perhaps for someone mourning or getting married or being sick, some familiar sight in Keol and whoever wears it will not be bothered by others. But if that's not the case... then dying the hair and keeping the ears covered would make it easier to mingle(?) with the crowd... Anyway, they probably have reasons for not doing that.

She still has those bright blue eyes, not to mention her face looks just a tad un-East Asian! (Though the face thing might not be so clear in this art style...) Which is why she opted for the veiled hat. The veiled hats are semi-common for affluent women.

Apparently non-plant based hair dyes are harder to come by, as well. There was that scene back in chapter 27 about plant-based dyes disappearing too quickly on white-blue hair.
