Huh... that's interesting. It's almost like immaculate conception, isn't it? XD;

Yeah. Danbi's sister was a virgin, too, although not all dandelion mommies are virgins.

신기한 콘셉이네요 ㅎㅎㅎ~ how do dandelion mommies know they are birthing other-world-kids and not their own (if they are not virgins I mean)?

Well, if the baby is a different race, it might be the most logical conclusion, although sometimes people do assume she must've had an affair with a Visitor!

Though if the baby happens to be an East Asian... yeah, it could go unnoticed. >o>

Man, those villagers weren't kidding when they said Danbi looked like his mother.

Wait, his mom hasn't shown up yet! And Hana's mom is his half sister, same father but different mother. :o

Ah, I guess I got lost somewhere in there. Family trees confuse me at the best of times really.

Or it might be that you have a gift of foresight! Danbi does look a lot like his mom, and his family tree is more complicated than is indicated thus far. :)

Woah. That's certainly an interesting revelation. ((They knew about embryos then . . .? Or am I just being dumb about my history?))

Yeah, this whole explanation is a lot more scientific than one might expect from a superstitious ancient society whose population seems largely uneducated (at least around this region).

So how did they figure it out? It should all make more sense as we see more of the world, I hope. oȝo

I've been meaning to ask, why does all the Korean-language text have them slurring the 's' sound sometimes? Does the Korean language not have that sound, or what? I like the idea of them having phonetic accents, but maybe it would be better to give Ethan the slurred-sounding lines, since his grammar implies he probably doesn't speak the language perfectly. Just a thought, though.

I really like the dandelion metaphor here. Very pretty imagery, too. Wonderful work as always!

It's supposed to denote an accent/ dialect. In chapter 4, we'll meet at least one character who doesn't speak in this dialect. ^_^ Ethan picked up standard modern day Korean, so even though his competence is lacking, he doesn't have this particular accent. (Plus his pronunciation is much better than his grammar/vocabulary.)

I'll need to do an intermission on the different dialects of Keol. There's a lot about this dialect that I can't show in text form...
